This is a driving trail developed by the Watchable Wildlife group in Manitoba. It is an extension of the Minnesota trail of the same name. We developed a guiding booklet with three routes that explore southeastern Manitoba with a focus on birds. The main route takes visitors from the Canada-USA border in the southeast corner of the province, up through the boreal forest and over to the east side of big lake, then around the southern edge of Lake Winnipeg and up the west side. The guide can be used for daytrips or week-long excursions.
Special Feature: There are more than 60 stops identified that provide visitors with type of habitat, best time to visit, birds to look for, type of facilities and where to get more information.
Location: Southeastern and southcentral Manitoba
