In partnership with Donna Ilago of XYZ Design, we created a concept plan for a long since closed interpretive centre. The new focus of the centre is lake sturgeon and Manitoba Hydro’s efforts to restore this threatened specie.
Centre theme: The ancient sturgeon swam the waters long before people walked the earth. Why have they begun to disappear in the last two hundred years and how can we help them thrive again?
There are nine sub-themes forming mini-galleries. The exhibits draw on traditional Cree knowledge, as the local community is one of the key target groups.
Location: Grand Rapids, Manitoba
Client: Manitoba Hydro.
